Home > What You Can Do > No Boat Discharge

Lake Keowee is one of six South Carolina lakes or creeks that are No Discharge Zones. That means that a boat on Lake Keowee cannot release sewage (treated or untreated) into the lake. Portable toilets should be emptied at onshore restrooms and boat holding tanks need a pumpout.

Pumpouts on Lake Keowee can be obtained:

  • at Lake Keowee Marina dock: 864-882-0800
  • by arranging for The Cliffs Pumpout Boat:

If you witness illegal discharges call SC Dept. of Natural Resources 803-737-0800
